Tottenham have apparently signed São Paulo defender Bruni Uvini on loan until the end of the season with the option of a permanent deal at the end of the period. The 20 year old Brazilian is expected to arrive in London tomorrow and if he impresses during his loan spell will sign a permanent deal at the end of the season.
”It’s a great opportunity that came up and I couldn’t let it pass me,” Uvini told São Paulo’s official website.
”Tottenham are a big club with worldwide exposure, and they’ve asked me to present myself.
”I have just over three months to adapt myself to English football, to the club and the culture. I will grow up a lot in my professional and personal life with this choice.”
Well the transfer window is shut so don’t expect to see this guy in the first team.

thats the page on the Sao Paolo website. As far as I can tell, he’s 19, captain of the Brazilian under 20 team, and he’s with us until the 31st of May. Couldn’t understand the rest….
So, it’s not perfect, but here’s the Google translation of the webpage referred to:
In Tottenham, Bruno called Uvini hopes for the Olympics
English Club is quick to rely on the São Paulo fan even before the transfer window
There will be three months of intense preparation in London, aimed at the Olympics. The defender Bruno Uvini will arrive before the Brazilian team in the country hosting the Olympics. That’s because St. Paul on Tuesday hit the transfer of the player for Tottenham, placed third in the Premier League well underway and presence in the Champions League next season. The player will be in English club on loan until May 31, with the value set of the pass.
“It’s a great opportunity that arose and could not pass up. It had been a time we were talking and Tottenham are a big club, with worldwide exposure, and has asked me to introduce me. Will be three months for me to adapt to English football, the club and culture. I have a great professional and personal growth with this choice, “says the 19 year old defender, who should be hired in the final end of this period.
Captain, are Pauline in winning the Junior Cup SP 2010, Lucas revealed that competition and Casimir, among others, the defender came to work in the middle of that year. In 2011, again as captain, he won the South American U-20 title in Brazil secured the London Olympics and the World, months later.
Even with the transfer window closed for European football, the Totthenham hastened to rely on the athlete. “They have a project to renew the cast and I want to spend this time with the team for next season already be adjusted and ready to join the team,” said the defender, already counting on the good campaign of the British team to qualify for the Champions League.
“It’s the dream of any athlete dispute this” Champions. “At the concentrations we always watch the games and video game too. I hope that this path is written to me,” he concludes.
I’m getting more and more excited everyday being a spurs supporter being linked to young players like this guy and Hazard, great young prospects to take us into our new stadium alongside the likes of Walker, Kaboul, Caulker, Sandro, Modric, Bale, and Coulibaly, we are building a fantastic team that if we can keep moving onwards and upwards we could be one of the best in the world. The futures bright, the futures lillywhite, COYS!
Thats exactly what Levy is doing mate, getting young talent and by the time our stadium is ready the players will be top notch.
Lets go get Daimao, Vertonghon, Marin, and someone like Lloris in goal to add to what we have already after getting rid of Dos santos, Bassong, Bentley, and Gomes to name a few.
Don’t know much about Lloris but would love to see lenadro, Vertonghon and Marin at the lane have been asking for Marin for about three seasons now and if Modric. does go he could be the perfect replacemnt. Daimao would also be a great signing looks like he has everything!!! Only herd about the defender at the end of last season but what i have herd is good!! Hazard as well what a line up we could have!!
Marin is a winger so I can’t see him being a suitable replacement for modric. I like cabaye at newcastle. Not as good as modric but then who is.
So was modric a left winger/mid when we brought him! Cabaye looks good and has prem experience what do you think about Gotze?
modric i believe was a central midfielder when we brought him in, but struggled for the first half of the season and was moved to left wing when harry bought palacios, he then played left wing influentially to a central pairing of palacios and jenas when we beat chelsea and aston villa in that nice end of the season run
I watch a lot of Budesliga and Gotze is amazing but i think he is more suited to the van der Vaart role- he is fast and scores goals. As for the next “Modric” (its hard to be i know) is Christian Erikson from Ajax- watch him today against United- he was the player who shined against England for Denmark- he is a wonderful prospect and plays just like Luka…
… and he (Eriksen) is a spurs fan too!
