It’s a done deal according to reports, AVB has today signed a 3 year deal to see him become the new manager at Tottenham, replacing Harry Redknapp who steered the club to two 4th place finishes in 3 years.
AVB is reportedly hoping to sign Brazillian wonderkid Oscar as his first major signing at the club. Luka Modric is expected to leave for Real Madrid and Oscar is being tipped to be a possible replacement. Oscar, 20, is one of the game’s most exciting young talents having scored a hat-trick in last year’s FIFA Under-20 World Cup final against Portugal.
QPR were hoping to sign Oscar last season but the move fell through after application for a work permit was turned down but now having received 6 caps for Brazil it appears as though Spurs are trying to hijack the deal according to The Sun.
Internacional value Oscar at £20m but Spurs will be hoping to reduce that fee significantly. AVB is reported to regard the youngster very highly and would love to bring him into his new Spurs side.
No doubt there will be a lot of speculation about who AVB wants to bring in over the next few weeks, watch this space….
