Heard a couple of reports that Spurs have renewed their interest in Brazilian Leandro Damiao.

Although I haven’t seen it myself I have heard reported negotiations are about to start over the transfer between Spurs and Internacional who are affiliated clubs which means Spurs usually get the first shot on players just as they did Sandro. Although unconfirmed it may be following interest from Man Utd that Spurs are ready to renew their  own interest.

Damiao has been catching the eye of some of the biggest clubs in Europe but Spurs and their Brazilian links have been tracking him for well over a year. If the rumours are true it could be massive for Spurs.

  1. It depends on how much the price is? I really do not think Spurs should spend £25million on a striker who is not even proven in Europe yet no matter how good he looks on Youtube. If its for £15millon then its worth the risk but if its for more then we should use the money more wisely and try and get a more proven striker. We could get Soldado, HIguain etc for £25-30million and they are guaranteed 20 goals a season. We also have to consider that Harry may not be the manager at the then end of the season- another manager may come in and not want a player like Dimaio, these all need to be considered- we do not have a mega rich owner with endless cash flow- we need to use the money carefully and make the most out of it!COYS!

    • Think we should go allout and buy him. I dont beleive in this unproven in Europe bull. The bloke is quality. All winners in life take a gamble sometime. Not buying a striker last year hurt us, lets snap him up then get Eden Hazard.

      • Haha, you’re the guy that claimed on SC that we’d put a huge bid in for Cavani and Hazard aren’t you? Then claimed everybody on there is a hypocrite for mucking about with you.

        • … and your the mug who has posted 100s of times on it and never got anything right! How do you know we havent bid for him? You dont do you! Your all full of shit on that site, just a bunch of wannabe itks.

  2. If Spurs see the need to spend £25m+ plus on a player then they should go after Fernando Llorente.

    • Had a mate who lived in Bilbao and he said Llorente had a Pav feel about him at times, and these were home games. His work rate is often poor, although he pops out and is a good target man.

Damiao, although ‘unproven’ can get up to the pace of the English game while we have Adebayor, and it’s clear he is quality.

    • Llorente is pav mark 2. He is slow as well. We should look at soldado or huntelaar. Both are exactly what we need. Why don’t we put in a cheeky bid for van persie as well! Lol!

      • because huntelaaar and soldado are both so much faster? WRONG. Both of them are also slow and a lot smaller. Damiao is reasonably quick but at the same time tall and immensely skillful.

        • Huntelaar has supposedly turned us down sooooo many times before, before he left Ajax, before he left Real, before he left for germany, there is no way i’d come!! I don’t think he thinks he could hack it in the EPL…next

  3. We need a top class forward, and we needed him for the City game. Let’s get someone in now, while we still have a chance of the title.

    • Spot on we need a prolific, find the net on a regular basis forward more than anything else.Maybe a good defender after that,we seem to be continually linked with midfielders even though we cant keep the ones we have got happy with playing time.We are the only top 4/5 team that does,nt have a prolific striker on a contract and to rub salt in Keane goes and scores a couple at the weekend having come back from US soccer would you believe it.

  4. It’s wether these players will come to Spurs. We are all aware that Spurs are the greatest football team in the world but they may not!!
    COYS

  5. If we wait too long for a top striker we’ll miss out & Damio will cost 30-40 million. Get him now just like when we bought Modric. It may well help to keep luka as well.

  6. This is a pretty poor article, no sources and no information found anywhere. Sounds like somebody trying to get some hits during one of quietest/ poorest transfer windows in recent times.

    • his ‘source’ is a fake twitter account hahahaha

everyone else spotted it a mile off, yet this mug was stupid enough to 1. fall for it and 2. actually write an article about it.

He’s deleted every other negative comment so far, so ill give it about 30mins before this one goes aswell

  7. It was always gonna be this window if we got him as Internacional were half way through their season in the summer. But now his price appears to have gone up but if Juve, PSG or whoever else were really in for him wouldn’t something have happened by now? I reckon Inter want about £18m realistically. But they are ok financially with the good Brazilian economy and new TV deal. So they may well keep hold of him for a while if no one offers what they want. In regards him wanting to come he knows he’d be the main man if he came to us. Not so at PSG or Juve.

  8. we want him for 14 at the mo, inter want 20. would be great to have him here, i think this could happen for somewhere in between, he is a class player and good friends with a certain midfielder of ours!!

  9. This is probably a case of me putting two and two and making five but Harry has said on occasion that he simply doesnt go to Brazil to watch players. When Sandro turned up Harry admitted he’d never seen him before. So chances are its the same with Damiao. So Levy is doing a deal while Harry is otherwise engaged to keep other business deals in place with clubs across the world in emerging markets (why do you think we bought Khumalo???). But given the vast amount of other clubs looking at him and the business deal we already have in place with Inter then it seems like we will have the first bite of the cherry. But then again it could all be bullshit. Who knows…

  10. This sounds like a harryhotspur story .I looked at this story yesterday and you mentioned that skysports had reported were in negotiations and now you’ve deleted that bit .why make up bullshit articles

    • A bit harsh. This post isn’t try hard, desperate to be funny every sentence and cramming as many big words in as possible to the detriment of the article so therefore is not comparable to Harry Hotspur.

As for Damiao, last thing I heard it was a complete non goer as they were sticking to their idiotic £50m release clause as being the actual asking price.
