According to the reports in the Sunday People the FA are sweating over the cost of trying to appoint Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp as the next England manager.
Spurs paid Portsmouth £5m for Redknapp back in 2008 but being the clever business man Daniel Levy is, he installed a buy-out of £15m in Harry’s contract for anybody that wants his services, a fee which put of Chelsea last summer. Redknapp was initially unaware of the clause and there is rumor that the situation could turn messy as Levy would not let Redknapp go cheap.
Harry would also expect the same £6m wage as Fabio Capello to manage England plus he would want to take his coaching staff with him which the total cost to the FA could exceed £30m.
It’s clear Harry is the front-runner for the job but with that move looking to be expensive for the FA could they yet have other options to explore?

Utter bullshit. harry is not the front-runner, he is the only runner ,the FA will pay and he will go.
Well, it’s a bit of a sweetener should we get that sort of figure if he leaves but I’d rather Levy offers him a new £6m per year contract and maybe ‘lend’ him some more, lol, along with some other incentives. Butter his bread. Astronomical, could be the repercussions should Harry leave. I’m off to eat some more sugar.
The situation is very serious. The current form is a joy to experience. The knock-on effect could be damaging as certain players would also consider their futures unless a top class replacement is found for HR. Who? That’s a tough one but securing a CL spot would help keep the likes of Modders. Last night was awesome. Best regards.
Dont you guys get it, as far as Harry is concerned money is not the object. He wants to manage England, just like a player wants to be captain. It will be the pinnacle of his career.
Thank God I didn’t chuck all me vinyl. Working my way through The Smiths.
If Arry goes then the only was we will keep our star players is if we bring in Jose or Gus..any up and coming managers will just not be big enough to keep them happy…
