Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is ready to report Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City to the FA for trying to unsettle midfielder Luka Modric.

The Daily Mirror reports that Levy has told that any club who try to unsettle his star player will be reported for breaking the rules. Manchester United had been chasing Modric as a replacement for Paul Scholes but interest may have taken a back seat while they attempt to land Samir Nasri, this has opened the door for Chelsea and Manchester City to try to prize Modric away from White Hart Lane.

Manager Harry Redknapp is said to be furious and has no plans to sell Modric but is growing concerned by some of Modric’s recent statments where he refuses to rule out a move away from Spurs this summer.

Modric said: “I’m a Tottenham player and will be back on July 7 to begin preparing for the season, but I want to say that transfers could occur later.”

Redknapp said: “If clubs the size of Manchester United and Chelsea are prepared to offer him Champions League football and massive wages, you would have to be very naive to think it wouldn’t turn Luka’s head.

“But I have been assured by the chairman that he is not prepared to sell him under any circumstances.

“And it’s fair to say he’s not happy about the unwanted attention and continuing speculation surrounding Luka.

“I have said on many occasions he is irreplaceable and it would be a massive disaster for the club if he was allowed to leave.

“We need to be strengthening the squad not depleting it. In an ideal world I would hope to bring in at least three more players to give us a realistic chance of competing for a top four place in the Premier League next season.

“United, Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea, who all finished above us, are going to strengthen their squads so we have to be realistic.

“If we want to compete with them we have to be active in the transfer market,

but I’m not suggesting it’s going to be easy. Quality players at the right price are not easy to acquire.

“We also need to trim the squad and sell a few players.”

Spurs knew they would be under pressure from clubs trying to sign some of their star players following failure to secure another top 4 finish but hope to hold on to their best players in order to break back into the Champions League once again.

Tottenham reported Manchester United to the Premier League in 2008 over the tapping up of Dimitar Berbatov and now Spurs are looking for evidence from any club who may have illegally approached Modric, if Spurs find what they are looking for they will hand it over to the Premier League.

  1. Pot. Kettle. Black…he’s a lovely lad but he’s a City player. And anyway, I’d have to speak to the chairman…triffic.

  2. How could Harry Redknapp have an issue with people tapping up his players; he’s made a career doing it, ffs.

  3. Would you trust the FA to do anything about it,like Blatter they are fucking dishonest.City and Chelsea are greasing palms to get what they want and United have flouted the rules for years and got away with it.The only answer is the high courts and use the law to deal with this level of corruption.

  4. Well done Levy, if true, about time…….. getting sick to the back teeth reading “EVERYDAY” some useless journo writing garbage about Luka going there or Luka going here, Manure this & Man Shitty that, even Chelski have jumped on the bandwagon……..

They must really fear us next season

    • “They must really fear us next season”.

LOL. You had your chance and blew it.

Spurs will be lucky to finish above Everton.

      • You will be lucky to finish on top of your mother! You son of an unemployed whore. Tottenham forever!!

        • Oops Yodel and VDHL, read the replied to post again, I think you both will find he is a Yid saying Meccashter Citeh fear us.;)

          COYS!

      • wont finish in the top six next season , what a shame for the spuds, come on city

        • who did you support 2 years ago you prick?

        • We shall see what shitty do next season and if you fail as you have so many times before what then?.Arab sand jockey get the cheque book out again or another new team and manager perhaps or how about you just buy the premier league?.Never had much time for Man Utd but compared to you lot they seem positively classy.

    • FEAR YOU, WE ARE TAKEING YOU APART SLOWLY, You will fall away now, probably 6-7th next season.

      MCFC FA CUP WINNERS 2010/11

      • Did your parents attempt to abort you? In fact,do you even know who your parents are?

You have won your first trophy in 30 years!! You’re a made-up joke club with plastic fans, all put together so a bunch of Arabs have something to do with their weekends. I feel sorry for you.

Modric may have his head turned by huge wages and champions league, but even ‘fans favourite’ Tevez can’t wait to slag off his own club in every press outlet. Soulless, vaccuous little club, always in the shadow of United.

        • You allow your prejudices to cloud your head. We certainly do have a rich owner, and he has allowed us to dream of success previously limited to members of the closed championsleague elite, but when you fall prey to the inane -’plastic fans’ abuse then we all can see you have lost it. Plastic fans? City? Do a bit of research. Look back a few seasons-check our crowds when we were rubbish.

And as for this comparison with United and shadows. It is clear that we don’t think we are. It’s more clubs like you who continually refer to them who are more likely to be in their shadow.

Tevez has never criticized City. Another mistake you make.

        • This spurs fan has serious mental issues that need dealing with before they get themselves into trouble, classic case of extreme anger.

          • Boo hoo hoo we aint selling you bellamy boo hoo hoo we are scared of tottenham boo hoo hoo. Lmfao at all the yo yo fans desperately defending their joe daki club, ignoring their real status and deluded to the extreme.
            .

            • Spurs guvnor…what is a ‘joe daki’ club? And as for our real status…what on earth are you talking about?

Sell your best players to Manchester, as you have done before, and will do again.

    • never mine boys, 6th in the league will be a good result fo you next season ,

      • Yes! I’ll be happy with six. City rich club but dont have own website. You come here and comment on our website. Money cant buy a real fans only the “glory-hunters”

        • City we’re getting over 30K in the 3rd division & have had a higher average than Spurs for a decade so your argument doesn’t really tally up pal.

          • 30,000 in the 3rd division? what did they combine the job centre and Man City games and let you sign on at the same time. Now thats how to get a decent attendance without a sand jockey owning your arse.

      • well thats rubish they will be above you next season because they re great club with world clas players that they ahve made there selfs unlike man cityand chelsea who ahv spent hundreds of million in the last coupleof years and they sstl cant win the premier league or chamions league LOL GGMU

    • Could not have said it better. Chelsea and Man City fans must remember that they were nothing until the billionares bought them into the top 4. They think every top player belongs there. Absolutely disgusting.

      • how much have levy spent since he been at spurs , tottenham not so innocent are they, ctid

        • but spurs are also good at selling players for good/huge profit and using that to reinvest in the team.. not just buying a 30 million player cos they have a spare place in the squad after releasing the 3rd choice left back.. unlike some teams

        • We spent money cause we sold some good players, makes profit on a big fan base not because someone give us lots of money. The club has good chairman. City could play in Champions League, but Tottenham will have more fan even if they in bottom three. You can have all the money in the world but you wont buy one real fan, you can have only bunch of the gloryhunters

          • When’s the last time Spurs had a higher average league attendance than City you thick cunt!? You got 32k for a league game against Stoke last season you sad bastards. City haven’t had a league crowd that low in 10 years you mug. Ashamed of your wank support much?

          • Michael Yido states that City ‘have only bunch of the gloryhunters’

Incredible. Anyone who knows this muppet, do us a favour and have a word in his ignorant ear. I’m such a glory hunter that I watched us get beat by York et al in the third division.

  5. Eeehh the last time I checked Liverpool DID NOT finish above us.

  6. Glad Tottenham are fighting back . Man City, Man U and Chelsea have become billionaires’ playthings – and they’re ruininhg the game, and ruining the players.
The EPL should impose salary caps and limitations on transfer fees or the number of transfers allowed.

    • WHY because your shit. You wasnt saying this last season. lol

    • Until spurs get a rich benefactor.

      • They do, Joe Lewis. His net worth is £2.8 billion, granted it is not as much as those that own Chelsea and Citeh, but he is a billionaire. However the difference is that Spurs are run as business in his portfolio with checks and balances, along with board members who also own a stake in the club.

  7. The FA hold about as much legal sway as the CAB. I bet Ciy, Ushited & Chelski are shitting their kecks at the thought of those bad boys at the FA coming after them!

  8. Just how deperate are Spurs these days – lol! If a player wants to go, let him go.

    • Why would we let a player leave 3 months after signing a 6 year contract? Signing the contract would make you think they plan to stay, no?

    • What like when Bellamy wanted to go to Spurs and you lot forced him to go AND PLAY IN A LOWER LEAGUE

  9. I see Spurs are manufacturing the usual PR spin we’ve seen time and again so that they can blame everybody, including the player, when he does leave, in order to mask the lack of ambition that is now paralysing the club.

  10. wait a min. ….spurs are making a report against tapping up to the FA. hypocrites!

    • Explain that James, when have Spurs tapped someone up? go on give me a full break down and show some evidence and how were Spurs penalised for this?
