A fifth place finish and reaching the quarter finals of the Champions League has been a successful season for Tottenham no matter what anyone says. It was always going to be difficult to emulate last season’s top four finish but with a bit more consistency and less draws, Spurs could have been in Europe=92s top competition once again.
Since Harry Redknapp has taken over at White Hart Lane he has re-vitalised the club and given them the best chance of success despite not many free bets backing his side. Redknapp has a very good squad with some raw and unearthed talent that will keep learning and improving after every campaign. That’s why Spurs fans need to keep the faith that they can have a title push and qualify for the Champions League once again.
The competition at the top is going to get tougher with the improving Manchester City becoming a major force and Liverpool likely to improve even further next season. Together with the big three, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal, Tottenham will feel they can challenge.
Their squad has some top quality players including the likes of Rafael van der Vaart, who has been a revelation since arriving from Real Madrid, Luke Modric is an unsung hero in midfield and the ever-emerging Gareth Bale, who has set the world alight this season with some outstanding performances on the left wing against some of the best teams in the world.
A couple more quality signings in the summer and a goalkeeper that can perform on a regular basis, free from mistakes, and Spurs have the strength in depth that other sides in Europe would relish, along with a side that will attract a free bet or two.
Spurs have the belief they can beat the best after this season with wins over both Milan sides, a victory away at Arsenal and encouraging performances against other top European sides. However, to be champions and win trophies, they have to be consistent and that has been their downfall this term.=20
Too many draws have seen them fade away from a top four finish but fifth place looks in their grasp with just one game to go at home to relegation-threatened Birmingham.
The Europa League looks to be heading to Tottenham next season and although it can be a distraction as they look to finish in the top four again, it’s a trophy well worth winning just ask Porto.

Could This Goal Machine Be Back On Harry's Radar
Kyle Naughton You Beauty....Norwich Score When They Want!
I have been reflecting on redknapp saying that hazard and gervinho are ‘no better than pav’!!!! GET A FTJKING GRIP HARRY.
Let me explain something we could buy Messi but if we don’t stop teams with average players playing with a tempo that can kill cause shocks every week and bad injuries we will not get back into the Champs league. Yo have doubted me all season and the season before and even though a goalkeeper and a defender have failed drug tests for energy drugs you still ignore why we struggled to break down teams defences containing players on paper looking like cannon fodder. Let me stick my neck out here and give you my Knowledge of the north west teams. Firstly when i discovered a famous team using lets say something that helps them play in a fast gear for the whole game i can tell by watching them for 15 mins and when Man City where strugggling along with Utd Everton Chelsea Arsenal and Liverpool i visible seen there tempo increase and i knew if we where going to get fourth we had to match this tempo and we never did even when Kolo Toure failed a tests i knew ex chairman of City Maxi Bernstien one time shirt making magnet and a shock appointment has the boss of the FA would brush this under the carpet till the end of the season. I wait with interest to see if its the same drug i was told was rife by the then drug testers Uk sport whose job it was to catch offenders and promote Sport just like the Police Policing themselves. They have handed the job to a new testing agency Ukad and when Kolo failed his test it should have remained private this is the FAs policy but someone leaked it to Sky and this is why Kolo stated it was his Wife’s slimmer he had taken trust me this was not a slimming drug but Ephedrine pure energy capsules so common in the north west even amateur teams take it and it can be deadly. When Blackpool and the slim Dj Cambell Adams stormed the Premiership it never shocked me even Luke Varney scoring and all the shocks my stomach turned to jelly when a team in poor form was playing Spurs because i knew what was comming saves blocks outsanding defending no matter what bad stats they had Like West Ham never had a clean sheet -0-0 Blackpool not wonfor eight games and never had a clean sheet they won 3-1 and nearly nilled us the list goes on . The main problem is this you can but 17 players full of energey and stop a better team from winning by chasing the ball and denying space at a high tempo for the whole game you become a formidable apposition no matter how much your players cost. Just imagine a pace maker who run at the same break neck speed for the whole race he would win the race but in reality he would tire well Teams are not tiring and half time is where ther energy is being topped up and all these energy drinks are a front for the real boost and in most cases its without the managers knowledge . The deaths in the last few years here and in Europe have bean a hard lesson of over taxing your heart and a player for a team who are playing at Wembley has lost 20 pound in weight because this drug can starve you to death by eating the very food you swallow and it killed a young girl of 21. The premier is fast but not legal and we played great in the slower Ufa champs league because they are looking for the killer tempo in there competition and also do tests in our domestic league if you are in there competitions. This is why Man City’s form improved along with Liverpool when they got knocked out we drew 14 games and if i sat with anyone of my fans i could show you most if not all where played at the killer tempo by the other team also in the Sky interview i could show how to tell if they have had the energy top up i will be waiting to see what City Captain has taken and if he is suspended like Paddy Kenny was for eight months most of it in the close season he is now heading for another shock season in the premiership with Kolo all we need now is Mutu oh and Swansea had a player who sadly died ? and they are shock finalists along with Reading who where 12 in February when there manager was asked why they started winning he said they played for each other and worked hard for other shocks in a season of shocks. We did well i no this for a fact and next year with a few more voices we will do even better because even the mighty Barcelona are starting to smell of sweat no not from there attack but from there pressing game and defending even without defenders the rumours are rife about a doge doctor or if you believe me energy supplements. This is the end for now and i will be getting a super injunction to stop me being named except Davspurs ?
WTF?
no way am i reading all that!
^^^ if anyone’s on drugs it’s you mate…
Unfortunately you speak the truth. Last week they catched some guys that were involved in match fixing and selling drugs, and the stats showed that the majority of the drugs were delivered in England. No wonder it is the toughest league in the world. I don’t understand how most people ignore this fact even though all the signs and clues are there. Pulis has said it very clear: how come it’s a random drug test when Stoke were checked before and after the FA Cup Final but Man City players were not tested at all… Football is a billion dollar industry no wonder there is corruption, lies, doping and so on. For that I won’t mind if we stay a mid table team as long as we keep fighting and don’t go down. COYS
i agree with davspurs :O?
“They are idiots aren’t they? What kind of idiot picks up a phone to ring a phone in. They are idiots and I don’t listen to them. Where do they expect us to be – above Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea? We have had an amazing season – it won’t get any better, enjoy it. This is good as it can get.”
This is unacceptable and it just goes to show what most educated Spurs fans have known for awhile…that Harry is a hugely overrated manager that is all hype from the English media, b/c they want him to be the next England manager and there aren’t any top English managers so they have to push someone that along with him always wanting to get his name in the paper and giving stories on everyone else’s team to the press. I for one think our squad is as good if not better than all of those teams except for United and he just constantly pats himself on the back and never takes blame, but always takes credit…If we really want to push on we need to get rid of him, we dropped a ridiculous amount of points against lower competition and Harry just sits there on the bench like the tactically clueless manager he is…wake up people Harry has to go…that’s what I took from this season.
Here here Alex, the guy needs to learn to keep his gob shut and show some respect to the fans, who pay towards his wages.
it is harsh Alex but 99% true… please Harry get a grip – I really don’t want us to start from scratch again….
Onya Davspurs, deadset nailed it!!! Eloquently stated and the truth is out there
Have to say that Arry has gotten us playin fantastic football and we have come on great as a team but the fascination with “big man – wee man” up front has got to go. Calls for Arry to go are, imo, a little premature but he needs a f ucking slap for disgraceful inactivity last xmas.
Everyone could see we needed a centre half and TWO centre forwards but instead he fed his midfielder-fetish with the crazy signing of pineaar and a last-ditch, half assed (and thankfully unsuccessful) attempt at landing Charlie Adam.
Crouch and Defoe should be ashamed of themselves this season – they haven’t produced the goods. When two out of your three strikers score 8 league goals BETWEEN THEM you arent gona make the champions league.
Jenas, Huddlestone, Palacios, Pineaar, Bentley, Keane Crouch & Defoe all need to go as they serve no purpose. The size of their combined wage bill scares me – surely with any revenue from their sale we could could strengthen properly.
On the subject of releasing players – and as contentious as it may be – anyone else think we should release Woodgate & King? I genuinely LOVE these two, and when fully fit reckon they are top 5 premiership defenders but the drain on the wage bill and inconsistency they (more so King) bring to our back four is a little detrimental. I think it was late November last year before we played with the same 4 across the back in more than one game… ready for the backlash on this one…
I agree with all of this.
