Arsene Whinger has been asked about Arsenal’s match against AC Milan in the CL last 16 and has said of how he studied Spurs victory over the Italian giants last season.
“I have seen [that game], yes,” he said. “Milan had a lot of the ball and Tottenham caught them on the break at the end of the game.
“You never decide when you break, you break when you can. It was a game which was vastly dominated, especially in the second half, by Milan.
“We will not decide at the start of the game that we will sit in our half if we have to, like Tottenham did. We will do it and then try to catch them on the break.
“But at the start we will try to get out of our own half and try to get up there and play. Spurs won the game when they were dominated, but that’s football today.”
So Wenger clearly gives us no credit, he must have been watching a different game to everyone else because we had our fair share of the match.
How silly is he going to look for slagging off our performance when Arsenal lose tomorrow?

I think Whinger’s opinion of the Spurs match is pretty spot on to be honest (I’m a Spurs fan btw). We were outplayed for large periods and, if Ibrahimovic’s overhead had have stood, we could have been staring at elimination. But, credit where it should be due, ‘Arry, Kevin Bond and Joe Jordan did their homework and realised that we would probably be taken apart by AC if we played our usual expansive style of football. Sometimes it’s better to admit you’re not quite as good as your opponents, whether it be in quality or experience, and adapt in order to gain victory. Maybe if Wenger could admit he was wrong now and then then they’d be pushing the two Manchester clubs all the way in the race for this season’s title given the quality of their squad? COYS!
