This season as unquestionably thrown up a few surprises, after last season I expected for us Spurs fans at best we would battle it out with Arsenal for 4th place but things have gone better than expected and it now leaves Arsenal fighting it out with Chelsea but it seems neither of them want it.
Both Arsenal & Chelsea are lacking, need a new injection of 4 or 5 players each, Wenger has stuck by his youth policy and finding players on the cheap but it seems as though his midas touch may have finally deserted him. Chelsea have allowed their team to grow old and now require a few new players to get the team back to the top and AVB is paying the price for this.
4th place is well and truly anyones, even Liverpool are in with a shout as they seem to be finding some form. We play both Chelsea and Arsenal over the next month, if we can get something then 3rd place is all but sealed which will leave the rest to battle it out for the final CL place.
At the back has been a real problem for Arsenal & Chelsea this season, Chelsea are a shadow of the team that once boasted the best defence in the Premier League but now they have the likes of David Luis in the heart of it, a player who is too scared to make a tackle and they are consequently shipping in goals like there is no tomorrow. Torres cost Chelsea £50m and hasn’t scored a goal in something ridiculous in like 20 games and is becoming a laughing stock. Arsenal surprisingly are no better, the team that once graced the Premier League with what I think is the best football the top flight in England has seen since the Liverpool of the 80s are now just a flickering flame about to go out. Mertesacker was brought in at the back but it seems he isn’t as good as many thought and Arsenal too are leaking goals. Arsenal’s only saving grace this season has come in the form of Van Persie who has scored more goals than I can be bothered to research but failure to finish 4th may mean they wave goodbye to their talisman at the end of the season.
I am not jumping the gun, it’s not granted that we will finish 3rd or even 4th but I am confident that we now have a better team than our rivals, we have sat back and watched for years in jealousy and now maybe its our turn for a few years of dominating London. Both Chelsea and Arsenal have been poor this season, maybe Chelsea more so as maybe they were expected to do better, I think the Arsenal fans might have seen this coming for their team but the question is, just who has fallen the furthest from grace? The Gooners or Chelski?

Personally i think both are just as bad as each other. I think its been great news for Tottenham as can go in to each game knowing the usual pressure of seeing Arsenal and Chelsea win games on a consistent basis has gone leaving Tottenham to pick points off against teams. I dont think its impossible for Tottenham to win the league. It all depends on our next two games away at Arsenal and home to Man U!

As MonkeyD has said above, both Arsenal and Chelsea have not become bad teams overnight. There is a difference between the three London teams, only Tottenham have not been in transition this season. You have had your squad from last season and then added to it. Chelsea have a new manager trying new things while Arsenal have new players who have had to adjust. We (Arsenal) have also not been able to field a settled back four this season and as you know have had to play players out of position at the back for many weeks.
Credit to Tottenham and Redknapp, you are building a good team and play good football which I enjoy watching but you really shouldn’t be getting carried away with yourselves just yet.
It is your best Premier League season ever and our worst ever yet we are not miles apart. We have missed our most creative midfielder in Jack Wilshere all season (hasn’t played once) and our new players will have settled from the off. There is plenty more to come from Arsenal, you just don’t know it yet.
Arsenal have brought in so many average players over the last few years. Arteta, chamoukh, Santos, koscielny, mertesacker have all failed or been average. Walcott has been one dimensional and hasn’t shown the ability or desire to track back. Van persie song wilshere and sagna are class,but the rest of the squad isn’t worthy of the top 4. You are obviously biased, god I wish more Gooners were so there is no point arguing which players are good and which ones are not. I know more about the qualities of say a Koscielny and are better placed to make that judgement as you are with your players. For the record, Laurent Koscielny has been one of the best defenders in the league but you are not to know that.

It doesn’t take the media to show how bad players like Walcott, Arshavin and co have been playing, I think your being a little picky as without van persie this season you would struggle for the top 8. Koscielny is good but not one of the best!
Err you have just done one of the most annoying things that al fans do, base their CURRENT squad on past successes an failures and future expectation, if you look at the current squad, most spurs players against yours in equal positions spurs’ would be first choice currently. if you are looking to the future aswell, your team is going to take 2+ years to complete/fix, whereas if the redknapp england saga does not mess us up, we have a bright future, a new stadium, champions league money and improvements every year. Why talk about a current squad and who is better when you say “lets see who is better when finish above 3 years in a row” im pretty sure that in the present, does not effect how good a squad is, but only club history.
For the record this maybe spurs best season in the prem to date but its not arsenal or chelseas worst. The league as Fergie said will be won by one of the biggest points totals since the prem began. The points arsenal and chelsea have from the amount of games they have played so far is not much different from that of previous seasons after the same amount of games. So what that means is if spurs and city had there squads now a few seasons ago when you say chelsea/arsenal were better they (spurs/city) would still be above them. Arsenal and chelseas poiints at this stage haven’t changed much whereas spurs have. Therefore you could almost say arsenal and chelsea have stayed the same results wise, well arsenal more so but its noticed more because of spurs and citys arrivals and utd have kept up.
What’s hilarious about this, is the only reason Spurs are anywhere near the position they are in is because of the failings this season of both Arsenal & Chelsea – and to some extent, ManU and Liverpool. There;s bever been a prem season where these 4 teams have been so inconsistent. So spurs have got to 3rd,. That’s it! THIRD.
